MCU: 10 Characters Most Likely To Die (And The Movies They'll Die In)

4. Vulture/Adrian Toomes (Spider-Man: Far From Home)

Why He's Likely To Die: Spider-Man Homecoming's mid-credits scene hinted at a "good-guy turn" for Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes, with the character refusing to disclose Spidey's true identity to the shady Mac Gargan.

With Toomes set to reappear in sequel Far From Home, it makes sense that his character will continue down this positive path. But if this is the case, then what place, if any, does he have in the future of this franchise? If he's not going to be a villain again, then why is he even in Far From Home in the first place?

Well, the fact that Marvel chose to show us that post-credits scene specifically - out of the dozens and dozens of options they could have gone with - indicates they have a plan for the character that started with this moment.

The act of protecting Peter's identity showed that, on some level, he does care for the kid, despite his prior attempts to kill him. This would lead very nicely into some sort of heroic act in Far From Home, a scene where Toomes either sacrifices himself to save Peter's life, or dies while trying to keep the young wallcrawler's identity a secret.

Toomes knows his daughter cares for Peter too, so he has extra incentive to keep the boy safe. With Gargan looking to find out who Spider-Man really is, there are a lot of dangerous people who could cause Peter and his friends some harm. Toomes has already protected the kid once - verbally - and it's likely he'll be called on to do so again, albeit when the stakes are much higher.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
