Marvel fans rejoiced at the news that Mysterio would be making his MCU debut in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The classic villain is one of the top names in Spidey's rogues gallery, and in live action Quentin Beck's alter ego was bound to be visually incredible, with powers sure to give Peter Parker a run for his money.

This is exactly what we got from Jake Gyllenhall's character, yet with a twist that kept audiences guessing. Fans of the comic books knew that Beck's time with the good guys wouldn't last long, however the adaptation for the MCU was a pleasant surprise.

Much like Zemo, Quentin Beck turned out to be just a normal man with no abilities, exposing the weakness of the hero with his brains rather than muscle. Using technology rather than other-worldly powers to play on the fears of the public, Beck created Mysterio to become the new Iron Man in Tony's absence, a man he hated for messing with his inventions.

While his motivations are somewhat questionable and arguably childish, this villain is incredibly charismatic and likeable, acting as a mentor, friend, and father figure to Spider-Man, before ultimately revealing Peter's identity and potentially ruining his enemy's life.
