8. How Will Captain Marvel Get Her Powers?

In the comic books, Carol Danvers was an established and powerless human character before she got any powers. She was introduced as an officer in the United States Air Force and a Security Chief of a restricted military base. Her powers arrived when she was with Dr. Walter Lawson - the human alias of an alien Kree hero who went by the name Danvers will have in this movie; Captain Marvel - and a Kree device exploded. Lawson shielded her from the explosion and, although she was injured, she obtained his powers when the explosion amalgamated her physiology with his. Given that she IS Captain Marvel in this movie, it's difficult to see that happening - so what will be the source of her powers? Does the fact that her movie comes directly before the Inhumans movie suggest the Terrigen Mists? Will it be an Infinity Stone that gives her powers? Or will it indeed be the same as the comics, regardless of factors suggesting otherwise as things stand?
