Oscars 2015: 10 Biggest Surprises From The Ceremony
6. In Memoriam - Mike Nichols Gets Biggest Applause
The In Memoriam section is always an interesting part of the show, mainly because there's bound to be some famous face omitted from proceedings. This year it was Joan Rivers who missed out, although the real shock with the section came from who got the biggest reaction. Big names like Richard Attenborough and Robin Williams got a bit of a clap, but it was Mike Nichols, director of The Graduate, that got the most audible response The whole segment is a very sombre, silent part of the show, with few stars got anything close to recognition from the crowd, but that Nichols got the most is a great mark of respect for his incredibly important film.
