Oscars 2018: 11 Blockbuster Movies That Deserve Best Picture Consideration

6. Paddington 2

Paddington 2 is only the fourth movie in history to hold 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with over 100 reviews, which considering how often those perfect scores are derailed by contrarian troll critics such as the infamous Armond White, shows just how much people love this damn movie.

A huge improvement upon its solid predecessor, Paddington 2 channels the essence of the titular immigrant bear through the style and tone of a Wes Anderson movie, resulting in one of the most stylish, charming and downright entertaining family films ever made. Seriously.

How Likely Is It?: No matter how incredible the film is, there's literally zero chance of it being nominated for anything, because despite releasing in most of the world in 2017, Paddington 2 didn't hit U.S. cinemas until January 12, disqualifying it from awards contention this year.

That does theoretically make it eligible for next year's Academy Awards, but sadly, it's incredibly unlikely short-sighted Oscar voters will remember the marmalade-loving bear come 2019. It's their loss, really. 0/10
