This Chinese sci-fi smash was released in the region back in early February and has already grossed a mind-boggling $650+ million worldwide, guaranteeing it'll land in the top dozen-or-so highest-grossing films of the year.

Though The Wandering Earth's momentum has quickly cooled, it pulled in gangbusters business throughout February, and even with Netflix purchasing the international distribution rights, it should manage to land in the $700-750 million range when factoring in its small global theatrical release.

As a return on a mere $50 million budget, that's pretty damn great. Don't be surprised if Chinese blockbusters, which are also increasingly seeking the talents of Hollywood actors, become much bigger business worldwide over the coming years.
