Predicting The Next 10 Movies That Will Make Over $1 Billion
6. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
There's been a lot of discussion had about Batman V Superman since it was announced at Comic-Con 2013 and most of it's been pretty negative. Man Of Steel was a rather divisive movie and with director Zack Snyder on board for the sequel that's something that's unlikely to change second time around. With Marvel so confidently jumping into the third phase of their Cinematic Universe, their rivals D.C. are playing catch-up and everything's being thrown at the film in the hope some of it'll stick: most of the Justice League; a female Robin; Bruce Wayne's parent's death (once again for some reason) will all feature. But here's the thing; while the chances of it being a quality film are shaky, its financial prospects are through the roof. This is Batman and Superman fighting on the big screen. Even someone who's completely repressed their inner-child can't help but get a bit of geek-on. Yes, there's so much extra clutter, a lack of jokes and Snyder's shallow direction to contend with, but it is still a film everyone wants to see. Of course, this poses a real problem for DC going forward with their Cinematic Universe; Dawn Of Justice will be a hit, but they'll chalk that up to a variety of factors, no doubt missing that it's entirely born of seeing the two heroes duke it out.
