Prey: 8 Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

Billy Sole was a Native American who served under Dutch's team in 1987's Predator. The first to sense the alien hunter, Billy eventually made his final stand to buy his allies some time. The soldier was slain off-screen but was deemed worthy by the Jungle Hunter, as his skull was taken for a trophy.

The character would inspire Dan Trachtenberg's work on Prey, as Billy's last stand made an impact on the director at an impressionable age. This led to the new film's focus on the Native Americans through Naru and her journey.

Billy would even be paid tribute in the middle of the movie during Taabe's time as a prisoner of the French trappers. The leader of the camp tortures the young man and wounds him across his chest. Fans of the 1987 movie won't see this as a mere coincidence, as Billy wounded himself in the same position as Taabe.

Despite being a supporting character in the original film, Billy's impact on audiences led to the creation of Prey. It is apt then that the new movie would give homage to the character through this subtle easter egg.
