Ranking December 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

17. Krampus

RottenTomatoes Score: 65% (5.9) Box Office: This economic horror comedy cost only $15 million and has been a major-minor hit, finishing in second place behind Mockingjay Part 2 in its opening weekend and grossing almost 4x its budget. Verdict: Though not quite living up to the Joe Dante-inspired tone it clearly seeks to emulate, Krampus almost makes the most of its talented cast (including Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner and Allison Tolman) and terrific creature effects to deliver a demented, subversive time at the cinema. It's not really very scary and is a sure comedown from director Michael Dougherty's previous seasonal horror (Trick 'r Treat), but it's still enjoyably left-field all the same. What next, Easter? President's Day?
