Ranking Every Live-Action Catwoman From Worst To Best

Much like the case with Batman: The Movie, Julie Newmar was once again unable to reprise her role as Catwoman when it came time to shoot the third season of the television show. This time, however, it would be singer/actress Eartha Kitt who was chosen to fill the role.

Whereas Lee Meriwether did manage to stay true to Julie Newmar's Catwoman and give an entertaining performance, Kitt managed to do not only that, but also put her own unique spin on the character. She took the groundwork laid by her predecessor and actually built on it in a way that felt genuinely fresh, as opposed to just imitating it.

Kitt would be the very first African-American actress to play Catwoman, which is also a significant fact that deserves a mention.

Much like with Meriwether, however, the shortcoming of Kitt's Catwoman is simply the lack of time she had in the spotlight. But in the three episodes of season three were she was given the spotlight, she stole the show every single time and solidified herself as one of the most notable figures in the franchise.
