Scream 7: 10 Things We Want To See

7. A Time Jump & Christmas Setting

When the Scream movies have been released in close proximity, they've also generally been set within just a year or two of one another.

The first three Scream films were set within a period of around three years, and only a year passes between the fifth movie and Scream VI. And so, wouldn't it be refreshing to see a bit of a time jump for Scream 7?

Given that Tara will presumably be spending the next few years in college, why not leap forward three or four years to when she's recently graduated, and focus on the Core Four as adults out in the "real world"?

And here's another fun one that many fans have been requesting for years - a Christmas-time setting. While one can't imagine it snows much in Woodsboro, if the Core Four stays in New York City after graduating, it's a ripe setting for Ghostface's first snow-topped rampage.

Everybody knows that blood on snow simply looks fantastic, and it'd certainly lend Scream 7 a unique flavour and aesthetic. Imagine the fun potential of a Yuletide-themed opening sequence where Ghostface makes a call while his victim is cooking Christmas dinner.

That's just one hypothetical, of course, but Christmas horror movies have a proven track record.

The only real road block? Paramount reportedly wants to start shooting Scream 7 to release by early 2024, when it'd make much more sense to release a Christmas-themed Scream movie in November or December. If Paramount can hang on eight or nine months, though, this'd be great to see.
