Spider-Man: 10 Reasons Sony Should Fire Andrew Garfield
7. The Character Would Be Reinvented For The MCU
Marvel have the Midas touch, turning even absurd and obscure heroes into gold. Sony seems to be the opposite, dismally letting down their properties with every film they release. If Sony relinquished the rights to Marvel then Garfield would be unceremoniously ejected from the franchise and replaced with a new actor, which might be a sacrifice worth making to get Spider-Man into the MCU. Rumours suggest that the comic book studio would bring in an older actor, avoiding the repetitive origin story and going straight into the action. Given Marvels amazing track record, it would make sense to allow them control of their flagship character. Spider-Man could then interact with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps joining forces with the Netflix Daredevil show, or appearing as part of the Civil War storyline. If Andrew Garfields role must be sacrificed to allow this to happen then so be it - Spider-Man deserves to be in the MCU.
