Star Wars: 10 Awkward Prequel Moments Fans Will Never Forget
5. Boba Fett's Origins
Boba Fett is one of the most popular characters to come from one of the best Star Wars films ever made, The Empire Strikes Back, though admittedly he was then dispatched by Han Solo on Tatooine in probably the most head-shakingly embarrassing deaths in Star Wars history.
The first individual ever seen wearing the very badass Mandalorian armor was introduced in the prequel episode 2 as a very young child to another bounty hunter wearing shinier Mandalorian armor, his bounty hunting father Jango Fett.
While Jango proves to be a very challenging adversary for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the film reveals somewhat disappointingly that Boba is just a clone of Jango that was made to be less aggressive and not mature as fast as his cooler clone warrior brothers.
The Clone Wars tv show gives a better look at Boba's mercenary past, but the film simply has him as a child excited by Jedi dogfighting shouting lines kind of annoyingly at his dad.
Boba could have been introduced some other way as in episode 2 he basically does nothing but sit and watch his father get literally torn apart by Master Jedi Mace Windu, and he doesn't even show up in episode 3 which probably would have been a better place to introduce a young teenage or early twenties Boba working for Palpatine helping with order 66. But at least now fans have a real Mandalorian to now to give them the Boba Fett that fans deserved.
