8. The Young Han Solo Casting Shortlist

Miles Teller. Ansel Elgort. Dave Franco. Jack Reynor. Scott Eastwood. Logan Lerman. Emory Cohen. Blake Jenner. According to Variety, they are the names in the running to play Han Solo in the Star Wars Story, which will chart a young smuggler's life around a decade before we meet him in Star Wars. Or, rather, they're 8 of the 12 names, with the other 4 not yet revealed. Rating: 9/10 Variety are a pretty major website, and it's unlikely that they'd go ahead and run this story without having a pretty solid source on it. Given the age and stature of those listed, it seems a fairly typical list of rising Hollywood talent, even if a couple of names might not seem initially obvious at first (looking at you, Franco). Of course, just because these guys are on the shortlist doesn't mean it's certain that one of them will end up with the role. There's still the matter of those other names that haven't yet been revealed (and here's hoping Anthony Ingruber is among then), while the film probably won't start shooting until sometime next year (ahead of a 2018 release), so there's still plenty of time left for things to change.
