Star Wars Rogue One: 12 Most Awesome Moments

9. The Cameos

Being a Star Wars movie there’s always room for a few easter eggs and surprise cameos, and while The Force Awakens probably went overboard in that regards, Rogue One dials it back a little. That’s not to say they don’t have a few surprises in store.

The reappearance of Jimmy Smits as Leia’s adoptive father Senator Organa is a lovely touch, and helps bridge the gap between the prequels and the modern entries; his mention of an old Jedi friend is a good wink too. C-3PO and R2-D2’s fleeting appearance is hardly necessary, but boy is it a good one.

Jyn bumping into Cornelius and Ponda Baba – the angry dudes Luke runs into in the A New Hope's Cantina scene – is possibly too fan servicing, but the final moment with Princess Leia feels just right and leads directly into the next movie in an organic way.
