6. Chewie

As battering rams go, you can't get much more powerful than Chewbacca. And while he might be getting a little long in the tooth, he's still easily one of the most purely powerful characters in a fight (provided you take magic out of the equation, obviously).

He's basically a genius mechanic and inventor (if it wasn't for him that rust bucket The Millenium Falcon wouldn't even be in the air), a gifted marksman and a pilot to rival Poe Dameron and Han Solo. He's basically a triple threat of intellect, skills and raw power and he's arguably the most useful character to have at your side in a fight, which is precisely why he and Solo were inseparable.

He might be slightly muted in The Last Jedi after the death of Han, but he'll no doubt be kept on his toes by the Porgs, and he's still the Falcon pilot so he has a significant part to play.
