Suicide Squad: 10 Past Jokers Way Worse Than Jared Leto's

6. "Speeding Bullets" Joker

In the Elseworlds story "Speeding Bullets", baby Kal-El (Superman) is found by Thomas and Martha Wayne. They name him Bruce and raise him as their own. Young Kal-Bruce struggles to reign in his powers and his grief after the murder of his adoptive parents. In this "Superman is Batman" story, The Joker is (unfortunately) Lex Luthor. In a familiar plot point, Luthor falls into a vat of chemicals and is transformed into the Joker. Predictably, Lex Joker kidnaps Lois Lane, attempts to take over Gotham by force, Super Batman then saves the day, abandons his dark persona and re-emerges as Superman...and in the process gently lulls the reading audience into a gentle sleep. The new Leto Joker may look odd, but at least DC didn't opt to make a feature film out of what is arguably one of the worst Elseworlds stories to date.
