6. Escape Plan (2013)
This might be a particularly surprising entry on our list, given that Stallone's team-up movie with his one-time nemesis turned BFF Arnold Schwarzenegger was widely deemed a flop on release. However, with a global haul of $137.3 million, Escape Plan performed just well enough to take the number 15 slot, and deservedly so, as it's an efficient, hard-edged thriller worthy of both action men in their prime. It is in some respects surprising Arnie agreed to do it, however, given he's very clearly relegated to a supporting role. Meanwhile, Sly remains front and centre as a security expert who specialises in breaking out of prisons. However, he knows he's in trouble when he winds up trapped in a super-high tech, super-illegal supermax facility where the only people worse than the other inmates are the wardens. The state-of-the-art prison element makes the film somewhat reminiscent of 90s action classic Face/Off - which had, at one point, been mooted as a potential joint vehicle for Stallone and Schwarzenegger.
