20 Upcoming Movies That Just Got Cancelled

From watching Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, it's clear that the door had been left open for more stories in this world, given that the sequel only further builds out the central demonic lore while leaving plenty tantalisingly unexplored.

Filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have expressed their willingness to return for another movie, but this was as ever contingent on the film's box office performance, and Ready or Not 2 was ultimately a fair disappointment in this regard.

It ended up grossing $43 million globally - down from the first film's $57.6 million, while being produced for more than double the original's $6 million budget.

With the law of diminishing returns already in full swing, that doesn't suggest much financial incentive for a threequel.

Plus, with the filmmakers now moving on to direct the big-budget blockbuster The Mummy 4 - which, if successful, could keep them busy for years with sequels - their low-budget genre film days might be well behind them.
