14. Prince Charming
In October 2024, it was announced that Paddington and Wonka filmmaker Paul King was teaming with Disney on a new Prince Charming solo movie entirely unrelated to Cinderella, with Chris Hemsworth tapped to play the title role.
As with King's aforementioned nixed Star Wars project, he was set to co-write it with his regular writing partner Simon Farnaby.
Word went dead quiet on the project for the better part of two years, what with all involved keeping their schedules incredibly busy, but back in August, industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed that the project was now dead.
The reason for this? King decided to shelve his work on the film in favour of his long-gestating Fred Astaire biopic, which will star Tom Holland and is slated to start shooting in January.
It's probably just as well, honestly, because how many people were really enthusiastic about a standalone Prince Charming movie?
