X-Men: The New Mutants - 10 Big Reasons To Be Excited

4. The Rest Of The (Diverse) Cast

In addition to the previously mentioned cast members (Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane and Charlie Heaton as Cannonball), The New Mutants has a broader cast of characters that are worth getting excited about a well.

As stated before, the New Mutants team in the comics was defined by its diverse members. And the movie seems to be following suit with not only said characters, but also the actors chosen to play them.

Native American Actress Blu Hunt will be playing Native American mutant Danielle Moonstar (aka Mirage) and Brazilian actor Henry Zaga will play Brazilian mutant Roberto da Costa (aka Sunspot.) This tells us that Fox seems to be embracing the spirit of the source material through and through.

Plus, the film will also feature Anya Taylor-Joy of Split fame as Illyana Rasputina (aka Magik, the sister of Colossus), who looks exactly like her comic book counterpart, as well as veteran actress Alice Braga as the group's mentor, Cecilia Reyes.

You really can't go wrong with actors that are both talented and incredibly well-casted.
