7. The Weird Harry Potter Parallel

Someone has been watching Harry Potter, or there's some sort of massive coincidence going on here. Either way, this parallel is worthy of note.

When Apocalypse and Xavier are battling in the Matrix... sorry inside Apocalypse's brain (which is made possible because of a mental connection between the two that remains after trauma - Harry Potter reference 1), Apocalypse shows off his ability to grow massive. Just as he does in the comics.

But more interestingly, Xavier's defiant challenge that he can never win because he's alone (and the continued, occasionally laboured allusions to the power of family), feels incredibly close to Harry Potter's challenge to Voldemort when they battle in the Ministry Of Magic atrium. In that he says the Dark Lord cannot win and he pities him because he'll never know love.

If that wasn't a conscious parallel, that's a massive coincidence.
