The '00s were the peak years for movie tie-in games.

The improvement of consoles' graphical capabilities meant that character models' features were more distinctive, and using actors' likenesses became more important to developers.

While most of these tie-ins were hardly worth playing, one series that seemed to buck the trend was the trilogy of Spider-Man games.

Each one a tie-in to Sam Raimi's movie trilogy, they gave players the most realistic opportunity to take up the mantle of Spider-Man (that is, until 2018 came along).

Despite his busy schedule and meteoric rise to super-stardom, the era's Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire, found time to lend his voice to the character for all three titles in the tie-in trilogy.

It's a beautiful touch, especially considering that these games have stood the test of time, with many people still citing the second in particular as one of the greatest games of its generation.

The strangest part is that Maguire's voice acting wasn't even the most memorable part, and many who remember this game fondly will be fact-checking this in disbelief.
