10 Amazing Gaming Cinematics That Had Us All Hooked

8. Onimusha 3: Demon Siege

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tki5y2Llyp8 Onimusha 3 opens with a subtle and quiet text scroll, detailing certain events from the first two games. But don't get comfortable, because this won't last. After the text, you are given a glorious treat; a near seven-minute CG movie with some massive action and huge battles, as a seemingly nameless ninja cuts and slices his way through some baddies. He is eventually revealed to be returning series protagonist Samanosuke. The action is fast-paced, kinetic fun and sparkling with excellent fight choreography. The scale is off the charts, with huge vistas that seem to stretch for miles. With the epic Hollywood blockbuster-style score backing it, the intro to Onimusha 3 keeps the tension running high until the final moments where Samanosuke shows off his true power. This introduction is the epitome of cool, and is just long enough to where it doesn't get aggravating. It doesn't overexert itself to the point of tiring out the player. Rather, it gets them ready, because they know the game they're about to play is going to rock their world. There is literally no game play at all in this intro, but that doesn't matter because it gets you pumped and ready. It's exactly what an intro should do.
