10 Amazing Video Game Missions That Got Cut
4. Night At The Library - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Although it's considered a cult classic within the RPG genre, Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines is ultimately a flawed masterpiece. Due to its rushed development and its studio's encroaching bankruptcy, the game was released with a long list of glitches and bugs, as well as a considerable amount of cut content. Including a mission for the World of Darkness' greatest archeologist, Beckett.
The mission took place at a library and revolved around saving Beckett's friend Scott from a member of the Sabbat. It featured a unique location made specifically for the side quest, and it was the only mission to include a member of the Lasombra clan. The man acted as the final boss, showcasing his clan's signature power of controlling shadows.
The mission was scrapped right before the release of the game; however, because most of its assets still existed in the game folders, the Bloodlines community managed to restore it with an unofficial patch.
If you install the patch (which is highly recommended for a variety of reasons), you can actually play the mission in its entirety. It may not be exactly what the developers had envisioned, but it's still a fun experience nonetheless.
