After the acquisition of the series by Bathesda, the fallout series has become quite the franchise.

The games released by them and other companies during this time have had varying development times and quality with most gamers praising the releases, baring a few select examples. However, there was a time pre-Fallout 3, when the series was an isometric tactical shooter. Developed by Black Isle Studios.

The first game to be released was Fallout in 1997, followed by Fallout 2 in 1998. Games of this time were often released in concurrent years but not games of this size or complexity. The difference between Fallout 1 and 2 is staggering. Yes, the graphics and design are very similar, but the pure amount of content on offer in Fallout 2 far exceeds what was available in the first game.

With a brand-new plot, locations, character, quests, and interactions, the additions put into Fallout 2 compared to the first game is a long list. Along with the fact that all this writing and programming was finished in a year, is quite the feat for the team. I mean you even get to build and run your own car, allowing faster travel and who doesn’t want that.

So many games in the series would come after Fallout 2, but for many, this is the panicle of the series.
