The Assassins Creed series has had a lot of ups and downs throughout its run. Classic games such as Assassins Creed 2 became less common for a while.

With annual releases of poorly designed and optimised games ruining the series reputation. They have only just recently managed to drag themselves away from this image with their newer releases of Origins and Odyssey. But there is one game in the series that shows they could produce a quality game and quickly too.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood was a direct sequel to Assassins Creed 2. It took the best parts of its predecessor and improved on them. But most amazing of all the developers did all this in a year. So many additions were made to the series in this game, not just improvements in controls but gameplay elements as well.

They added the use of assassin recruits who you could send on missions or even make use of them yourself to aid in Assassinations. On top of this, they also added a multiplayer component for the first time in the series. In which you play as Templar recruits who must compete in a series of competitive matches to hone your skills.

While people often debate over their favourite Assassin Creed games, it is hard to ignore the quality and innovation that the team behind Brotherhood designed and created within the span of a year.
