10 Amazing Video Games With INCREDIBLY Short Development Times

3. Oddworld: Abe's Exodus - Nine Months

GTA vice city
Sony Computer Entertainment

If you owned a Playstation, there is a good chance you would have played one of the two Oddworld games. For a while during the console’s lifespan they even used Abe as a mascot, sitting beside the likes of Spyro and Crash Bandicoot.

Other games in the series have been released but Abe’s Odyssey and the game’s sequel Abe’s Exodus have both stood the test of time, and believe it or not Exodus was released just a year after Odyssey.

Abe’s Exodus took the original game and did everything it could to improve on it. Practical features such as quick saves and better control over followers helped the game lose the moments of frustration that the first game had.

As well as this, interesting additions such as Mudokon's moods were implemented. You might meet someone that is angry or sad and would have to do your best to console them. Let’s be honest though, the two best additions are minecarts that crush your enemies and explosive farts if you drink the local Soulstorm brew, just don’t look at the ingredients.

With Odyssey already having a modern remake called New ‘n’ Tasty and an Exodus version called Soulstorm coming soon there is no better time to try enter this truly Oddworld.
