10 Amazing Video Games You Can Get For Under £5
2. Batman: Arkham Asylum
There was a time when the majority of licensed video games were greeted with a sigh and a roll of the eyes as, time and again, we were disappointed with shoddy graphics, poor gameplay, and blatant disregard for the source material. This all changed when Arkham Asylum arrived in 2008.
Rocksteady absolutely nailed the dynamics of the character and incorporated the various aspects into the game in a way that felt integral to your progress. The combat proved to be revolutionary and fit entirely with the character of Batman, as thugs would do their best to mob you only to be greeted by a bat boot in the face. It was just the right level of challenge to make you feel like a badass but difficult enough to make it feel like you have earned it.
On top of that, you have stealth sections offering a nice alternative to the combat, some fiendishly clever Riddler puzzles that offer insight into the denizens of Arkham and their backstories, a plethora of Easter Eggs, and a few fourth wall breaking moments that have to be seen to be believed.
It’s a no brainer for any Batman fan out there and the good thing is: if you have already played Arkham Asylum, you can pick up its sequel Arkham City for the same price.
