10 Amazing Video Games You Can Get For Under £5
4. Killzone: Shadow Fall
There was a time when Killzone was being touted as one of the PlayStation's flagship franchises. It seemed to have all the ingredients necessary for a stellar franchise: gorgeous graphics, stellar gunplay, and an epic battle against an army of murderous Helghast spanning four games so far.
And yet, it hasn't quite grabbed the attention that Sony would have liked. This is a real shame as every game has been a perfect showcase of outstanding visuals, interesting story, and some spectacular set pieces with Shadow Fall being no exception.
Shadow Fall was one of the launch games for the PS4 and, in a notoriously slow birth for the current generation, it understandably got the most attention. As time has passed and more impressive games have reared their heads, Killzone has kind of been forgotten about. But this shouldn't take anything away from the fact that it is a supremely enjoyable experience which takes some of the tropes of previous games and enhances them. Not only this, but Shadow Fall incorporates some new elements, with the most successful being the introduction of your own personal drone which you can use as a shield, an extra line of attack, or even a zipline. This adds a level of verticality not yet seen in the series and it is all the better for it. As with many current games, this allows for a lot of variety in your gunplay, giving you the chance to play it through multiple times using a number of different strategies.
If you fell out with Killzone after the notorious 'gameplay' trailer, then now is the perfect time to bury the hatchet. You'll be glad you did!
