10 Anime Based On Video Games You Need To See
7. God Eater
If there are a few things anime and video games can share wholeheartedly, it's big weapons, big monsters, and big loads of energy. That's what makes the God Eater gaming series such a perfect target for adaptation. The proof lies in the pudding here, as this is one hell of a fun anime.
God Eater takes place in the post-apocalyptic world of 2077, in a land ravaged by beastly monsters called Aragami. It's up to the titular God Eaters who work for a company called Fenrir to protect humanity from the onslaught of these beasts, with their over-the-top weapons known as God Arcs.
This anime ticks all the boxes for something stylish and action-packed. There are awesome looking weapons, straightforward yet compelling characters and a host of enemies to be taken down.
Although it commits the cardinal anime sin of using computer-generated images, it does a great job with them, making for a nice combination of hand-drawn and CGI sequences. Overall, it's a great looking show that will give you a good time in its limited amount of episodes.
