10 Anime Based On Video Games You Need To See
5. Dragon's Dogma
Let's move from one Netflix Original Anime to another. Oh, and it's a dragon-centric fantasy epic again. You'd think familiarity would breed contempt, but in the case of anime giving you a healthy dose of fire-breathing goodness, it never gets old.
Dragon's Dogma adapts the property of the same name and tells the story of Ethan, a man whose home town was destroyed by a dragon who also stole his heart - in the literal sense, not the metaphorical. As he fights to gain revenge against this beast, he grows less and less human and faces more formidable challenges.
This series - in a similar vein to Dota - delivers on a visually rich fantasy tale. The monsters look fantastic, and the development of the main character is easy to get invested in. However, it also benefits from a much simpler story. By following the guidelines established by the video game, it gives you something easy to follow yet still filled to the brim with tension and action.
The original game itself is a delight, but if you want a similar experience for way less time, then this is a somewhat worthy substitute.
