10 Announced Video Games We Haven't Heard From In AGES
7. Dead Island 2
In 2011 Techland's Dead Island was released to generally favourable reviews and, although the game didn't blow many people away, it certainly had the bones and capabilities to become a very good game. So when it was announced at E3 2014 that the game would get a follow-up in the form of Dead Island 2 there was some serious murmurings of excitement.
The game was making all the right noises initially, with talk of a more open-world setting to explore and a full co-operative experience to enjoy really seeming to address some of the legitimate criticisms levelled at the original game. However all those right noises soon stopped and have not returned at the time of writing this article.
The game was originally scheduled for a 2015 release but, after that date came and went, it soon became apparent the game's development was not going as smoothly as people were hoping. Techland instead decided to focus on the fantastic Dying Light and their original melee heavy zombie game has yet to really find itself a suitable home since then.
The game still has no official release date nor has it been officially cancelled, appropriately Dead Island 2 is currently somewhere between living and dead.
