10 Arcade Video Games To Make You Feel Like A Kid Again

4. The Simpsons

An indisputable fact of life is that the majority of Simpsons video games are utter trash. From the godawful Bart's Nightmare, to the cynical mobile micro-payment games that we have today, none have lived up to the high quality watermark of the show itself. Well, the show in its first 10 years at least.

But the Simpsons arcade game was a thing of beauty. It genuinely looked and sounded like the show itself, with perhaps the one exception of that weird Smithers lookalike villain at the start. Whenever you saw the Simpsons being played in the arcades, it was like sweet yellow amber nectar that lured you in with its gorgeous cartoon graphics.

The game itself was also a great side-scrolling beat 'em up. Sure it was nothing exceptional, but when you were a youngster it was the perfect combination of recogonisable cartoon characters and fun gameplay to make you an oh-so-happy little brat. Or should that be Bart? Or Bort? No, that would be silly because no child is named Bort.
