10 Arcade Video Games To Make You Feel Like A Kid Again

2. WWF WrestleFest

WWF WrestleFest is quite simply, the greatest licensed wrestling game ever made. At the height of global WWF popularity, this glorious cabinet appeared in arcades like a shining beacon of light to any kid who had a love of wrestling. And if you didn't love wrestling after playing WrestleFest, then it must only be assumed that you were dead inside.

WWF WrestleFest was just insanely fun to play. It offered quick arcade gameplay, multiple game modes (including the Royal Rumble - SQUEEE!) and 12 wrestlers to play from, all of which were bona-fide legends. Developers, Technōs, understood that wrestling at the time was about being big, brash and loud. WrestleFest was all of these things and then some.

It may not have the deep move sets that we come to expect from WWE titles today, but it didn't need them. With its gorgeous stylised graphics, any of the moves you had in your arsenal both looked and felt amazing to pull off. Especially when you got to your finisher. Which were very special indeed.

It says so much about how great WrestleFest was that to this day, fans have clambered for a remake using the current crop of WWE wrestlers. And without sounding hideously self-congratulatory about this, we really do deserve this remake.
