10 Awesome Features In Truly Terrible Video Games

7. Walker Assault - Star Wars Battlefront (2015)

EA's first effort at Star Wars Battlefront had everything going for it; launching close to the first new Star Wars movie in ten years, and being developed by Dice, what could go wrong?

Yeah, try a lack of story mode, unintuitive controls, half-assessed air combat, weak matchmaking, and lack of main game content really affected the experience; locking much of the content behind an overpriced season pass didn't help.

The atmosphere, however, was what they nailed, and this stands out nowhere better than the Walker Assault Mode; it's a forty-player game mode that centres around Rebel Alliance soldiers calling in Y-Wing bombers to destroy Imperial AT-AT walkers. It doesn't matter what side you are on, you will have a fantastic time immersing yourself into the Star Wars world, shooting blasters at your enemies and being choked out by Darth Vader.

Now it does come with a grain of salt; Walker Assault mode can be frustrating as it feels unbalanced at times, favouring the Imperials. But a well-rounded team of soldiers can conquer this mode as the Rebels. It's unfortunate that Walker Assault didn't transfer over to Battlefront 2 (2017), but it was succeeded by other, better modes.

It's hard to be mad though; the Star Wars experience is incredible.
