10 Awesome Super Mario Fan Theories You Had No Idea Existed

Super Mario Galaxy ends rather anti-climactically. After an intense fight with Bowser in which the antagonist is literally hurled into a sun, the characters find themselves sucked through a wormhole back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Seemingly awakening from a dream, Mario and Bowser are no longer in conflict, and everything is perfectly at peace. During the transition, Rosalina alludes to the possibility of rebirth, suggesting that the cycle of life will always repeat itself, just not in the exact same way.

Since Super Mario Galaxy, there hasn€™t been a single original Mario title. We€™ve had Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, Mario Party 10, Super Mario Maker, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Mario Golf: World Tour and Yoshi€™s New Island.

In fact, everything Mario-related since Mario Galaxy had been either a sequel or a remake, almost as though the company is stuck in an endless loop.

In this respect, many people have theorised that the ending to Super Mario Galaxy was actually Nintendo acknowledging the currently trend in their games. I mean, Rosalina literally says, "The cycle always repeats itself. But the cycle never repeats itself in quite the same way". It€™s almost like Nintendo are speaking to us directly, openly admitting that they€™re going to keep doing exactly what they€™ve always done, forever.
