10 Awesome Super Mario Fan Theories You Had No Idea Existed
4. Luigi's Mansion Is The End, Chronologically
How can Luigi be dead if he appears in later games in the series? Well, according to one particular theory, Luigis Mansion is actually the last game in the timeline, the final chapter in the Mario saga.
Heres the evidence: in Luigis Mansion, the player encounters Madame Clairvoya, who says The scene appears before me......... Wh-what is this!? Bowser!? How can this be!? I see the hideous form of Bowser! Is Bowser somewhere in this mansion? I cannot believe it... And yet I see it... I thought that Mario had soundly defeated Bowser!
Bowser, soundly defeated? As in, gone forever? Currently, Bowser has appeared in several of the most recent Mario games, including Super Mario 3D World, Mario Party 10, Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS, and Super Mario Galaxy 2. If Bowsers been soundly defeated prior to the events of Luigis Mansion, he would not have been able to appear in subsequent titles, what with him being dead and all that.
Equally, towards the end of the first game, King Boo gloats about his imprisonment of Mario, declaring himself pleased due to how much trouble he has caused, despite King Boo never having appeared in any Mario game prior to Luigis Mansion. Theres a Big Boo in Super Mario 64, and an entirely different King Boo in Super Mario Sunshine, but these arent the same character, meaning that the King Boo from Luigis Mansion is an all new addition to the franchise.
So, when exactly died Mario cause him all this trouble? Oh right. The future.
