10 Awesome Things Sleeping Dogs Does Better Than GTA V

4. Bullet-Time

As I mentioned before, Michael's special ability to slow down time whilst shooting in GTA V left a lot to be desired. We expected something akin to Dead Eye from Red Dead Redemption or the bullet-time mechanic of Max Payne 3, instead we got something that was hard to control and didn't lock on to targets quick enough. The bullet-time in Sleeping Dogs can't just be activated whenever the player so desires. Oh no, it's far cooler than that. In true John Woo style, bullet-time can be activated when jumping from vehicles and leaping over objects, allowing for Max Payne-esque mid-air shooting that feels and looks truly awesome. It takes some getting used to, but once you've fully upgraded your bullet-time skills and mastered the mechanic it will save your skin at crucial moments.
