10 Awesome Things Sleeping Dogs Does Better Than GTA V

3. On-Foot Navigation

GTA V improved on GTA IV's on-foot navigation by quite a margin. Gone was Niko's turning circle of six feet and getting destroyed in firefights because you weren't able to work out how to move. But GTA V still didn't quite perfect it, the turning circle of the characters still wasn't great and whilst firefights were easier, it was still possible to confuse your sense of direction. Sleeping Dogs hit the nail right on the head with responsive movement and a free-running element. Whether you were in a chase on foot or just trying to get somewhere, there was definitely fun to be had in being able to scale various surfaces in a kind of GTA/Assassin's Creed hybrid. Seeing as the driving mechanics in Sleeping Dogs were barely functional, it was a relief that running was so fine-tuned.
