10 Awesome Video Game Abilities With ONE Fatal Flaw
8. Flamethrower - Resident Evil 5
The flamethrower is a recurring weapon in Resident Evil, appearing in most of the mainline entries. Not only does do it do devastating damage, it's crucial against zippy small enemies that are hard to shoot down with a gun. Since the flamethrower quickly eats up fuel, the weapon doesn't last long, which is why it should only be used sparingly.
Unfortunately, the incendiary device has an even greater drawback in Resident Evil 5. Since the Mkono boss is vulnerable to fire, Chris and Sheva must use the flamethrower nearby to dispose of it. Due to Mkono's beefy health bar, Chris is sure to deplete the weapon's fuel before the boss drops dead. When this happens, he must return the flamethrower to the refuelling station to fill it up.
In the meantime, Chris and Sheva are left twiddling their thumbs. Unless our heroes have some flame rounds or incendiary grenades handy, they'll have to wander the room and evade Mkono while the flamethrower takes its sweet time getting ready.
Even though the flamethrower is fun to use, it's annoying that 90% of this fight involves waiting for the weapon to be ready.
