10 Awesome Video Game Abilities With ONE Fatal Flaw

7. Zangief's Final Atomic Buster - Street Fighter (Series)

When we say one fatal flaw, we do mean it; this Super Combo is one shortcoming away from being the most powerful move in all of Street Fighter.

Its short startup time means it can be easily thrown after an attack, making it perfect for a frame-specific Tick Throw. The damage is supreme - it did a whopping 450 in SFIV, and even in other games it still melts a huge portion of the enemy health bar - and in terms of raw stats, this Super Combo is a beast.

Besides all that, the choreography is nothing short of glorious - watching your opponent spin helplessly between suplex after suplex before a whirling Spinning Piledriver is an absolute joy whenever it lands.

That's the problem though: Landing the move.

As a close-range grappler, a lot of Zangief's tools don't work well from a distance. This is usually a decent tradeoff thanks to high damage, but this Super Combo takes it to the extreme - using that much Super Gauge to watch an attack fumble is just heartbreaking.

When you factor in the steep learning curve for the input, this move's flaws make it much more nuanced than slamming someone into the ground ought to be.
