10 Awesome Video Game Rewards That Came Too Late
9. Mayan Armour - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
In Assassin Creed IV, the player takes control of Edward Kenway; a pirate who sails across the Caribbean Sea, hoping to find resources to take down The Templar Order. Throughout his quest, the young buccaneer can upgrades his weapons, his tools, and most importantly, his ship, allowing it to withstand assaults from enemy frigates, brigs, and schooners.
While Edward explores the islands, he'll come across structures known as the Mayan Stelae. By locating all 16 monuments, he'll be rewarded with Mayan Armour, which is bulletproof. This gift initially sounds like a godsend, since trigger-happy soldiers is a constant problem during stealth and raid missions.
However, Edward acquires the Mayan Armour so late in the story mode, there are barely any missions left where it proves helpful.
Black Flag's climax is an epic sea battle, with warships blasting Edward's vessel from every direction. Whether or not Edward is wearing his trusty garment isn't going to help withstand the might of all those cannonballs.
Because the final section involves Edward climbing a series of walls in an observatory, his Mayan armour is once again totally useless.
