10 Awesome Video Games You Can't Play Anymore
8. PokéPark: Fishing Rally DS
The Pokemon series has proved to be a phenomenon ever since bursting into the mainstream in the west in the late 90s. Collectable items from the series are highly sought after by fans, who seemingly took the gotta-catch-em-all mantra as something to live their life by, with original video games and trading cards commanding an ever-increasing price as they continue to become more scarce.
However, there is one official Pokemon game that will likely be entirely lost to history: Poképark Fishing Rally DS. Released only in Japan and distributed exclusively through DS Download Play, the game was a simplistic fishing simulator that allowed players to capture several first, second, and third-generation pocket monsters in an attempt to rack up a high score.
And that's it...
To make matters worse, as a download play exclusive the game would disappear after shutting down the DS system and came with a 12-hour time limit. Ultimately, Fishing Rally is little more than an interesting concept for the DS' Download Play feature, but that won't placate collectors who will never get the chance to experience the minigame on its original hardware.
