10 Awful Video Games Based On TV Shows

5. The Sopranos: Road To Respect

Back in the mid noughties, it seemed to be okay for developers to release games based on serious, character-driven shows. It was on this logic that The Shield, Prison Break: The Conspiracy, and this entry in our list are in existence. They may exist, but by gawd they’re all awful.

Road To Respect is the baddest of the bunch; pitched somewhere between seasons five and six of HBO’s now-classic crime drama, the game centres on Joey LaRocca, son of long sleeping with the fishes rat, Big Pussy Bonpensiero.

The promise of voice acting support from all the major cast members gave this game some calibre on the run up to its release in 2006, but any glimmers of hope were thrown head first through a double-glazed window when it was released, with players and critics alike bored by the repetitive beat ‘em up missions, lack of linearity, and blocky graphics. Predictable pun alert: this one should never have been made.
