4. 24: The Game

If there's any TV show on this list that should transition effortlessly into the video game form, it is the supremely entertaining FOX espionage action thriller series 24. I'll give it some credit - it looks decent (for its time) and has a good attempt at a story, but the risible gameplay is where all of this falls apart. The real issue is that the game simply tries to do too much and does nothing particularly well; it is part shooter and part driving game, married with interrogation mini-games and so on that just don't mesh very well together. The controls are extremely sluggish, making aiming your gun a particularly frustrating experience, meaning that you'll end up dying far more often than you really should. Also, enemy and ally AI are just as idiotic as one another, making 24: The Game an alternately hilarious and infuriating sit. Though the game provides some interesting story morsels for fans, that is not enough to excuse what is an ambitious but catastrophic failure.
