10 Bad Video Game Endings That Are Harder To Get Than Good Ones
8. Become The New Boss - Streets Of Rage
Streets of Rage is a classic arcade-style beat 'em up where you scroll through levels filled with angry bad guys and turn them to pulp with your equally angry heroes.
The game's most famous ending is the secret Syndicate one, in which instead of stopping the evil organization, your character becomes its new boss.
The ending is unique for two reasons: firstly because you need a second player to get it; and secondly, because it's more challenging than the good ending.
When you reach the final stage with your coop buddy, the Syndicate boss, Mr. X, will ask you if you'd like to be his new right-hand man.
If one player agrees while the other refuses, Mr. X will trigger a special PvP duel to the death. Mr. X will ask the victor if they want to join him again, and if you refuse, another fight will ensue, this time with Mr. X himself. If you manage to beat him, you get a cutscene with your character sitting on a throne as the new boss of the Syndicate.
The ending is considerably harder to get as it involves two final fights instead of one, plus, unless your friend goes easy on you, you're going to challenge the final boss with less health.
