8. Defeating The End (Metal Gear Solid 3)

Metal Gear Solid has always been known for its innovative and exciting boss fights and this is one of the best of them. There are a number of different ways you could have defeated The End; an ageing sniper who is close to death, but no less accurate with his scope. You may have gone for the traditional route, in which you have to search through a number of stages, looking for any sign of your prey. This was rather difficult as the only way of spotting him was a tiny reflection from his sniper scope, but this made it even sweeter when you managed to flank him from behind. Another route you may have inadvertently taken, is by simply waiting until The End finally croaked it from old age. If you stopped playing for a week, the game recognises the console's clock function, so when you boot the game back up you are informed that The End has passed and you didn't even have to break a sweat. But perhaps the most slick option would be to actually kill The End before you even have to face him. Earlier in the game, you come across a cutscene involving Volgin, Boss and The End. If you have already picked up the SVD sniper rifle, you can snipe the old codger straight away, avoiding the tricky boss fight entirely and making you feel incredibly badass.
