6. Snake Vs. Grey Fox (Metal Gear Solid)

Ever since the demo for Metal Gear Solid was released with a cinematic trailer included, every gamer worth his salt was looking forward to this showdown. Having accomplished the incredible task of looking cooler than Snake, Grey Fox proceeds to show how capable he is in combat. Armed with a ridiculously cool samurai sword, he proved to be more than a match for Snake and was the first tough boss we had to face. Due to a frustrating tendency to deflect bullets with his sword, it was important to get close to Grey Fox if you wanted to defeat him; which was a lot harder than it sounds due to his stealth camouflage. But this is exactly what made you feel so badass when you finally defeated him. Here was a guy who was practically invisible the entire time, and he was armed with a samurai sword; yet even he could not overpower Solid Snake and actually decides to team up at the end of the game. Perhaps he realised there was no way of ever defeating him and decided to jump to the winning team, plus it's a better tactic than Otacon's decision to hide in a locker and wet himself.
