10 Baffling Oversights In Otherwise Great Video Games
1. Watch Dogs' Police Are Afraid Of Water
Oh Watch Dogs, you just couldn't catch a break, could you? Within all the hubbub surrounding the game’s supposed graphical downgrade and the general feeling of disappointment that enveloped the game upon release, it was clear that the title wasn’t as ready as it should have been when this open world game first launched.
But the worst oversight in this half-baked adventure managed to render an entire portion of the gameplay experience completely redundant. In car chases between your hacker protagonist Aiden Pierce and the police, the game encourages you to use the wide digital arsenal at your disposable. But why would you bother when hopping on a boat and fleeing to the water would be ten times as effective?
See, the cops in Watch Dogs apparently haven’t been trained – or they just don’t get paid enough – to chase crooks over water, and as a result will turn around and leave you alone as soon as you hit any of the rivers located around Chicago.
So, whenever you'd find yourself on the receiving end of some particularly bad police brutality (and you always did, over and over again) you never had to worry, because there was always an easy way out of even the most hardest of chases.
